Cyclone Chapter of SHRM Goals & Objectives

Membership Development

  • Encourage SHRM At-Large members to become local chapter members through personal contact by Executive Committee members inviting At-Large members to visit a meeting and follow-up. Efforts will result in a 5% membership increase.
  • Promote membership in National SHRM at monthly meetings.
  • Focus on retention of current members through value-enhancing programming and email communication. Efforts result in a 95% retention rate.

Community Outreach

  • Promote Human Resources and business development by offering scholarships to High School business students to attend Business Horizons.
  • Support local charities twice per year (Spring and Fall) with various fundraising activities.
  • Partner with the ISU Alumni Association to provide a resume critique service for ISU Alumni.
  • Enhance our LinkedIn page and website with more pictures and encourage more chapter communication on social media channels..

College Relations

  • Arrange and facilitate one meeting each year for the ISU student chapter of SHRM.
  • Provide HR services such as resume critiques as requested.

SHRM Foundation

  • Increase yearly SHRM Foundation donation by 5% over previous year.
  • Volunteer at the state SHRM convention. Use a portion of the funds paid back to the chapter for providing this service to make a donation to the SHRM Foundation.
  • Promote and encourage individual donations from Leadership to the SHRM Foundation.
